Why This Study Matters:

The word disciple, in Greek, is mathetes. It means someone who puts into practice what they have been taught — not just a hearer of the word, but a doer.

Jesus did not call admirers. He called followers. And when we study who these twelve men actually were — their occupations, their personalities, their failures, their transformations — we begin to understand what following Christ actually asks of us.

This mini-workshop is for those who want to move from knowing about the disciples to understanding what they demonstrate for us today.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health that we are to be acquainted with the original text of the Bible. That is exactly what we do here — together.

Why the Bible? Why the KJV?

Oftentimes, Christian Scientists don't personally research the context of the Bible and so when someone asks why is this important, we're at a loss to back up why we need to study it in the first place!    With "Why the Bible? Why the King James Version" online eCourse, you will never have to be nervous about these questions again. You will learn the context of how the Bible came to be and its importance to Western Civilization. You will understand why certain translations ignited The Reformation in Europe & paved the way for Protestantism to forever change the trajectory of Christian faith. You will learn the context within the modern debate over "King James Only-ism" that was so contentious 700 years ago, and is STILL so relevant today. You will also discover why Mrs. Eddy was so fond of the King James Version.
